The Director of the Electronic Learning Directorate at Mekdela Amba University is responsible for planning, managing, and advancing digital learning strategies across the university. 1. Strategic Leadership

  • Develop and implement institutional e-learning strategies and policies.
  • Provide leadership in the integration of digital technologies in teaching and learning.
  • Align e-learning goals with national higher education frameworks and university strategic plans.

2. Program Development

  • Oversee the design, development, and delivery of online and blended courses.
  • Ensure the use of modern instructional design principles and tools in course creation.
  • Facilitate the adaptation of existing courses for online platforms.

3. Training and Capacity Building

  • Organize and conduct professional development programs for academic staff.
  • Build faculty capacity in e-learning content creation, digital pedagogy, and platform use.
  • Promote digital literacy among students and staff.

4. Platform and Technical Management

  • Manage the Learning Management System (LMS) and other educational technologies.
  • Coordinate with IT teams to ensure smooth operation, security, and accessibility.
  • Evaluate and recommend e-learning software and tools for institutional adoption.

5. Quality Assurance

  • Establish standards and guidelines for online teaching, learning, and assessments.
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of e-learning programs.
